Print in Layers: DICE Explores Risograph at Witti Studio

In a time where most design exists digitally, learning to work with print brings a different kind of understanding. It introduces students to material, process, and technique in a way that screens cannot replicate.

At witti.studio, DICE students explored risograph printing, a stencil-based process that prints one color at a time through layered inks. Unlike digital printing, it allows slight shifts, overlaps, and variations to appear in the final work. These qualities are not flaws but part of the visual language, requiring students to think carefully about how each layer builds the image.

Working across different techniques builds range. It pushes students to think beyond the screen and understand how ideas translate into physical outputs that can be produced, circulated, and hold value.
